What does the generic calculation note contain and/or not contain?
The generic calculation notes contain:
– The technical data of the materials and sections used for the structure
– The technical data of the equipment planned on the support (number, weight and wind load for example)
– The calculation of the actions (own weight, wind, etc…) and the load combinations
– The possible installation zones of the structure. These zones are determined according to 2 methods:
o by wind zone / building height / ground roughness
o by peak dynamic pressure
In this case, equivalents of wind zones / building height / ground roughness are given.
– Presentation drawings of the structure, indicating the general dimensions
– Mechanical verification of a structure according to Eurocodes criteria
o in resistance according to the ELU (Ultimate Limit State) load combinations
o in displacement according to the combinations of loads ELS (Limit States of Service)
– Verification of stability (overturning/sliding) in the case of a self-supporting structure
– Verification of anchorages in the case of anchored structures.
The generic calculation notes do not contain:
– The details of all the assemblies
– The assembly instructions for the structures
A verification of the compatibility of the supporting buildings with the structure
